Bartelt Bridge

At this old farm property in Montgomery County we had the challenge of solving a storm water problem that restricted the main entrance to the property. The sheet flow of storm water that runs to the culvert from either side of the sloping drive would continually undermine the macadam bridge deck over the culvert. Our professional designer engineered a new bridge that solves the storm water undermining by adding slotted surface drains to divert the water before reaching the bridge deck. In addition, we installed a new underground drainpipe between the head walls, installed a reinforced concrete bridge deck with decorative Pennsylvania Bluestone boarders and inlay along with the dry stacked stone retaining walls.
